    Dr Bradley, great video. I can’t help but notice the lever bar lock on the door behind you. Is it part of the door or can you buy separately and add to any door? Would like to have info on that locking mechanism.

    I wish this was my science class/teacher in high school. Love the room he is in. Thanks for the video, very informative and useful. Bill Nye take a seat, the teacher is in the house! Just subscribed. I had a question about the seams around the handles and where the bottom of the can meets the edges; how well are they sealed and should they also be sealed?

    Is an internal electrical insulation layer not necessary? like ruber, cardboard or simple plastic?

    Don’t grasp the validity of these test! A nuclear device also emits a magnetic pulse. The Behrens High-Grade Steel 1211 Steel Trash Can is 30 gauge (0.4 mm) and will saturate allowing the magnetic energy to induction heat and melt the electronic circuitry, especially the chips. This is why military equipment for Level One is built to a higher spec. already than domestic equipment (about 20x better) and yet still needs protection meeting MIL-STD-188-125 (80 dB attenuation) in real scenarios with their much higher energy levels. I don’t see 112 dB achieving that for ordinary consumer stuff at the expected energy fluxes. Sometimes Nilomag or one of the other nickel–iron soft ferromagnetic alloy with very high permeability is employed for mission critical equipment to avoid saturation of ordinary steel enclosures. So will this work in a real scenario or is this the reason for the lengthy disclaimer — my club has a lot of these to build and bags to buy whist we still have time. Post script: The MSM is still not reporting on the increased navel movements in the Pacific.

    I have installed a Siemens EMP Home Protector. If I plug all my small appliances using a power strip, will that safeguard them. Also, if I plug my Goal Zero 1500x power generator together with the 4 solar panels into my power strip will that also be protected whether they are in use outside or sitting idle inside my home, also remaining plugged in? Finally, would it be a good idea to line the inside of the trash can with rubber mats? Thank you.

    Do we have to line the inside with cardboard, or do you recommend we drop a 5 gallon bucket inside so the plastic provides more barrier?

    Why did you not put the lid on tightly? You just sat the lid on and did not push the lid down to seal the trash can.

    Should the cans have a non conductive liner like cardboard to protect items inside?

    IF A FARADAY CAGE CAN BE MADE AS A “CAGE” WHY NOT JUST USE A WIRE LOOP TO “GROUND” ( bolt or solder ) THE LID TO THE CAN ??
