Wonder how much it would generate if you just used the whole spool of wire as the coil
how much difference would a metal plate make? seems that could be made with basic tools.
How about winding a thick wire with 3 thin wires together in a coil? Volts+Amps
What’s the AWG of 0.1mm wire?
I think it would be interesting to use this setup to show folks the impact of number of turns. So you now have a generator with 2000 turns. You could make another one with 1000 turns of thicker wire chosen so as to have the same weight of copper. Then another with 100 turns, again with thicker wire where the total still has the same weight of copper. Then 10 turns and finally 1 turn. In each case, the open voltage for a constant RPM will go down, but so will the wire resistance, so the max current deliverable will go up. It would be interesting to, in each case, short it out and measure the breaking torque by dropping weights from spools of string (relates to efficiency). It would also help folks understand that increasing the voltage does not necessarily get you more power for the same input.
That coil former is great! And… If both side slide up and down the rail, you can attach the center of the rail to an axel and handle, the run your wire spool off another axel. Spin the former to wind your coil. Add a Geneva drive counter, and spin away! 2000 turns? No problem! Add a motor and a circuit to count the turns / shut off the motor after a set number; get a coil with a push of a button!
There’s a hole in the middle of that jig one may insert a bolt through and grab with a power drill to spin
In Canada the dictator is censoring things so much I have already been warned they will remove my channel for simply posting a link to Amazon. So I might not post any longer but I am still watching.
Was nice chatting with you Robert. But out government is becoming a dictatorship. No joke.
What is the ratio of power out compared to the amount of wire used in a serpentine compared to a conventional winding? Or the ratio power compared to magnetic flux?
Are there any documented numbers for these or is that something you’re encouraging us to test?
Whoops!! Not modular!!! Can you add the modular gear so I can put a planetary gears system with these??
